•  Andaman and Nicobar Islands: 60% growth (Rs. 32 crore to Rs. 51 crore)

•  Tripura: 32% growth (Rs. 121 crore to Rs. 160 crore)

•  Bihar: 30% growth (Rs. 1,991 crore to Rs. 2,599 crore)

•  Lakshadweep: 27% growth

FY 2024-25 SGST Performance (Pre and Post Settlement)

For FY 2024-25 (cumulative through March), the total pre-settlement SGST across all states increased compared to FY 2023-24. Key observations from the settlement data:

Maharashtra led with pre-settlement SGST of Rs. 1,13,769 crore (13% growth) and post-settlement SGST of Rs. 1,72,379 crore (16% growth). Tamil Nadu reported pre-settlement receipts of Rs. 46,318 crore (13% growth) and post-settlement receipts of Rs. 75,856 crore (15% growth). Karnataka recorded Rs. 45,314 crore in pre-settlement (11% growth) and Rs. 82,808 crore in post-settlement (10% growth).

The IGST settlement mechanism significantly boosts state revenues. Most states see their effective GST revenue nearly double after settlement, as a portion of IGST collected on inter-state transactions is distributed to destination states.

Outlook for April 2025

April 2025 collections are expected to be higher than March due to financial year-end activities, including annual reconciliations, pending GSTR-9 filings, and adjustments by taxpayers closing their books for FY 2024-25. The GSTN published the official March 2025 report.
